Steps
- Make sure that someone in your family has plenty of cash to get back home. If not, try finding a bus stop, or if you live far away from where you are, try walking to a tube station.
- Stand out. Wearing bright colours will help. Stand confidently near the edge of the pavement, possibly not in front of cars. Stand in a spot where it is easy to see you and your family.
- Keep an eye ahead for the next available unoccupied taxi. Usually there will be a light on top that says TAXI. It means that the taxi isn't taken by another passenger .
- As soon as you spot a taxi, raise your arm and wave (rapidly if you even have to) to catch the driver's attention. Wait for the taxi to come to you.
- Get into the cab and tell the driver your destination, if not, your parents will.
Tips
- Always sit in the front if you are alone.
- Always telephone a taxi company near your area. It's much safer.
Warnings
- Never sit in the back if you are alone! It's dangerous because you are in a car with a stranger!
