Handle Sharp Turns in Need for Speed Carbon

Having trouble making sharp turns in Need For Speed: Carbon? Here are some easy ways to make the turn easier.

Steps

  1. Start the turn as early as possible. On sharp U-turns, this is very important. Do not start too early unless you're in a Canyon Duel.(See step 3)
  2. Use the Speed breaker (slow motion).

    • Press the Speed breaker button (varies on different systems, on PS2 you press R3, and for the Wii it is right on the D-pad if you are holding it correctly).
    • Go into slow motion and do the turn. It is a bit tricky at first but very helpful.
  3. Try a Nitrous turn. Right before the turn, activate your nitro. Then, immediately turn! Otherwise you will risk crashing. Don't worry if you don't get it the first time, just practice.
  4. Try a Drift-Nitrous turn. Drift part of the turn then use NOS to speed ahead.
  5. Tap the hand brake (space bar on the computer) for just a second at the beginning of the turn so your rear wheels lose grip and the back end swings around faster.

Tips

  • To make sure no one messes up your turn, set your default crew member to a blocker, and use him on the turn.
  • Try to use a car that has moderate stats, because you won't ram onto the walls too much. This technique will keep your car at a high speed.
  • Need For Speed: Most Wanted is very similar to Need For Speed: Carbon, so these may also help in that game.
  • If you are trying to win a canyon duel, you would probably have to use a tuner car.
  • If you are at your car's peak acceleration and top speed, you might want to press the speed breakers and turn. You can also press the nitrous button during the speedbreaker.
  • The most effective turns are the nitro turn and the speedbreaker turn, mix these together on one turn and you will be able to turn very sharply.

Warnings

  • Watch out for enemies to block you on a turn. To counter that, use a blocker.
