Know What Gear You Should Shift Into
Knowing how to shift by which gear you are supposed to be in before you have to shift is essential in driving a clutch it helps if you have to paperback up or slow down.
Steps
- Start the car. First put the left foot on the clutch and the other in the brake. turn the key and release the hand brake
- Ease off the clutch. Slowly ease off the clutch while giving some gas. If the car starts to shutter give a little more gas or push the clutch. This will prevent the stall.
- Go to the next gear. Once the engine starts to sound louder or the rpm gets to around 4 thousand rpm go to the next gear. Off gas and push in clutch and shift into the next gear
- Down shifting is another essential. If driving and you need to down shift, push the clutch and then try to shift gears.
