Steps

Make a basic cherry Jello shot

Cherry gelatin with a maraschino cherry suspended inside give these Jello shots a sweet and fruity cherry flavor.

  1. Boil 1 cup of water in a saucepan on a stovetop.
  2. Add the package of gelatin and stir the mixture with a whisk until the gelatin completely dissolves.
  3. Add the cold water and the brandy, stirring again with the whisk.
  4. Pour 2 oz (60ml) of the gelatin mixture into individual plastic shot glasses.
  5. Refrigerate the shots for 30 minutes or until the gelatin has the texture of cold egg whites.
  6. Place a cherry in each individual shot glass. Use a chopstick or a toothpick to push the cherry into the gelatin as needed. The cherry should appear suspended in the middle of the shot.
  7. Chill for 2 to 4 more hours until the shots are completely set.
