Make a Watermelon Grapefruit Shooter
Summertime is ideal for the outdoor party, for adults as well as children, and shooter can help add to the party atmosphere. Adults can enjoy these shooter juice drinks with a shot of tequila, or any preferred liquor. Omit the tequila, and serve the kids their own grownup version, of a fresh fruit drink.

Ingredients
- ½ cup water
- 1 ea. 4 ounce box strawberry flavored gelatin mix
- 1½ cups watermelon puree (see instructions below)
- 1 cup pink grapefruit juice
- Tequila to taste (about 1½ cups) and/or extra grapefruit juice
Steps
Making the Watermelon Puree
- Place chunks of fresh watermelon into the food processor. Do this in batches, adding more as needed and measuring the amount made as you go.
- Process until smooth. When it's well pureed, it should be good to use.
Making the Gelatin
- Bring one half cup water to a boil.
- Place the gelatin in a heatproof container with a spout.
- Pour the water into the gelatin and stir to dissolve the gelatin completely.
Assembling the Shooters
- Pour the dissolved gelatin into the watermelon puree.
- Divide the watermelon mixture and grapefruit juice among 12 shot glasses. Alternatively, pour into small juice glasses.
- Place in the refrigerator to chill. Chill until the shots are thick but not fully set.
Serving
- Add a little grapefruit juice and/or tequila to finish off.
- Serve immediately.
