- Watch who will talk to you. When one of your classmates asks you a question,e.g."What page do we do?" Answer in a nice way. If you're still too shy to talk to people who ask you questions try practicing talking to a mirror and take deep breaths.
- Look for someone who would want to be friends with you. This can be a sign. If someone makes you laugh with their jokes, or gets along with you very well, then just try to talk to them yourself! Ask about their interests and other stuff like that! Shy people don't get shy when you start talking to them.
- Accept invites. When people are inviting you to sit with them in lunch or any kind of stuff like that, then accept their invitation and go hang out. TRY making small talk with this person.Who knows, they could be your best friends in a week

- In your classes, when someone who sits near you says something that's funny or supposed to be funny. LAUGH. Even if you didn't get the joke at all. If you laugh at people's jokes, that person will see you as a good friend.
- Start saying "Hi" to people you know who walk by you.
- Be nice. Give some of your food to people in lunch that don't have any lunches at all.
Tips
- If you see other shy people who seem to be friendly towards you, don't be afraid to talk to them. You may find that you have a lot in common.
- Just be yourself, have fun, and ignore mean people. This will get more people to like you.
- Don't be discouraged if you have trouble making friends. Often the nicest people will be the ones to make the first move towards friendship, and when they do, you know you can trust them.
- If someone asks you something, try to answer in a way that will make the other person feel welcome to ask you other things. This way you can help each other and be friends!
- Be yourself. If you try to make friends with someone who doesn't know who you really are, you won't get along with them very well.
- Always be honest.
- Smile! But you don't have to show teeth.
- Just do like normal, smile to them.
- If you are so shy you do not want to talk, just behave like the class and pretend to yourself you have been here already. It helps lower shyness.
Warnings
- Don't say "hi" to the same people over and over again because they'll think that you are annoying.
