Make Italian Herb Seasoning

Italian herb seasoning is tasty and suitable for seasoning a wide range of dishes from pastas to stews. This seasoning tastes best if you have dried the herbs yourself; that way it is guaranteed to taste the freshest and is so much nicer than buying it ready-made off the shelf. This recipe is a base version; there are numerous variations on this one and you are free to add more variants to this article or to wikiHow as you please.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme

Steps

  1. Mix together in a small bowl.
  2. Funnel the ingredients into a small bottle with a lid.
  3. Seal and store for up to six months.

Tips

  • An easy way to transfer herbs to a small spice bottle is by making a funnel with a piece of photocopy/printer paper. Gently roll it into a funnel shape, place the thin end into the spice bottle and pour the herb mixture in at the top.
