Make Money in School

Have you ever wanted to make a lot of money in in school? Are you a teenager or a child in school with no cash? You can be a young entrepreneur in your school. Just follow these steps to make money in any school, guaranteed!

Steps

  1. Market things that your schoolmates might want such as candy, snacks, pencils, etc.
  2. Make a plan on how you will split your profit, and go to your school principal or head teacher for permission. Offer to donate ten percent of your monthly earnings to the school. This way you can't get in trouble, and you're still making money.
  3. Buy popular stuff that other students at your school like. Some things that children might like include chewing gum, candy, drinks and all different kinds of things. Just ask your principal beforehand if it is okay to sell a certain product.
  4. Start stocking your commodities. Store them in your backpack, pockets, or locker. Let's say gum is what everybody in your school wants but they aren't able to buy it. All you need to do is go to the store and buy a pack of gum.
  5. Set your prices higher than what you paid at the store, if you can. You might not be able to, but you are selling convenience as well as your items. Charging a little bit of profit is acceptable. If it's higher, then people will just go to the store, rather than buying from you. Say it costs 75 cents. You will have to raise the price by 10-20 cents to achieve profit, or for an example if your school has vending machines buy people soda and have them pay you back plus give the returnable can back so you make a 10 cent profit and make them pay an additional ten cents for labor since you are taking garbage off their hands.
  6. Sell it fast. You should sell these to the rest and use the money obtained to repeat the previous step. If you have enough money, take higher risks, go to a wholesale store that sell things cheaper than normal stores and buy a whole box of gum instead, there may be 25 to 30 packs of gum in one box.
  7. Protect your earnings. Since you are well known as a young entrepreneur in your school now, you may be a target of thieves, bullies, and other students in your school. You may want to hire a trustworthy "bodyguard" near you so that he/she will take care of your money while you will serve the customers.
  8. Be innovative. Now that you know the whole process, be innovative in what you sell. Make the strangest item that people would ever buy. Maybe marshmallows dipped in chocolate? A pen gun? Think of something creative. Nowadays, these are the kinds of ideas the market wants.
  9. Get some help. Find some kids that will work for free. Use them to sell the stuff. But you be the treasurer. Even though they may be good workers, you might not be able to trust them with your money.
  10. Have rare commodities in stock. People will want to buy from you and you only if you have items no one else has. For instance, If you were selling baseball cards, sell the good ones that people want. Also, never sell fakes. Or if you're selling candy/gum, sell some candy from a specialty shop, or some imported candy from Japan or something.
  11. Be business like. Never be pleased. Remember, you are making money. If someone pays you a lot of money, take it. Just make sure you are not ripping the person off really badly.
  12. Keep records. Make sure you are keeping track of your earnings in a notebook.
  13. Spend all your money appropriately. Make sure that you have fun making a little cash but not to brag about this, or else you will see a big decrease of buyers!
  14. Be sure that your school allows things to be sold. If not, do not take the risk.



Tips

  • Store your profits in a safe place.
  • If few people are buying what you are selling, by less of the object or lower the price. You can also survey the students by asking them if the price was lower, would they buy the object.
  • Save your money.
  • Stay humble, don't get greedy.
  • Don't just buy it, make it. Sell jewelry to girls, handmade grippers to guys, cookies you made last night, whatever it is.
  • Do not sell to the teachers and staff members.
  • Hang up your advertisements in areas that are visited a lot by students like the washroom.
  • Don't use most of your profit to buy the items you are selling, unless you really need it.
  • Also tell other students that you can take notes for them for an amount of money.
  • If you can draw manga style, character drawings are very popular. Draw kids as a character, let them pick the colors, accessories and so on. If you don't draw manga, find other popular subjects. Look at subcultures. Once you know how to draw one popular subject, practice a few more in case it goes out of fashion. If it's something original to you, so much the better.
  • If you are selling things at school, you should find an appropriate time that won't disrupt classes.. For example, if you are trying to do this secretly, don't sell things during class. You may need to put the things in your locker and sell them after each period, if someone is wanting to buy the item.
  • Get snacks from the cafeteria and sell them to the kids in your next class that always skip lunch.
  • Drawing tribal designs for tattoo patterns or on kids as temporary tattoos may be popular too.
  • Always ask a parent first.
  • You may want to make your advertisements on your computer so you can hang up multiple copies in your school.
  • Get a receipt book.
  • On your advertisements, tell the people that the prices will never be lower so people buy from you when the prices are high but then lower your prices even more to encourage more buying.
  • Take a survey in the school by asking 50 students if there were "x number of objects" were sold at school for $ XXX.00, would they buy them. If only a couple people say yes, then don't sell the object.
  • Ask your teacher or the school principal for permission to sell objects in school.
  • Take your surveys at lunch break.
  • Make advertisements, advertising people to buy what you're selling.
  • Possible items to sell:
    • Greeting cards with your computer, for birthdays or holidays.
    • Private tutoring in a subject that you feel you can teach.
    • Toys or any thing that hasn't been opened.
    • Pencils, and sell them for 25 cents each, or five for $1.
    • A 6 pack of hand warmers and sell them for 50 cents each (or 2 for $1).
    • Puppy chow is usually popular. Sell it for $1 for 1 cup or $3 for 4 cups.

Warnings

  • If you're selling food make sure you're aware of your customers food allergies.
  • You might get in trouble for selling merchandise in school. Be sure to ask before you sell, otherwise you could get in a lot of trouble.
  • Some schools don't allow junk food to be sold.
  • Watch yourself, being mindful not to give away stuff for free to your friends or buddies, this can result in a loss of money, instead of a gain.
  • Teachers don't like students with gum.
  • Don't steal the goods to sell, you will be caught.
  • Lots of schools, especially elementary schools, don't allow food or drinks to be sold. Make sure to know the rules beforehand.
