Make Money on Sims 2

Do you need money on Sims 2? These are some cheat suggestions in getting and making money in the game.

Steps

The Basic

  1. Create a family and create a really cheap home or buy one.
  2. Move the family to a home that they can afford.
  3. Hold down Shift, Ctrl (control), and C. This will give you the cheat box, as you will see a white text bar at the top of your screen.

Easy Methods

  1. Type in the following cheats. Each code will give you a different amount of money.
    • motherlode = $50,000
    • kaching = $1,000
    • (This one only works if you have the Nightlife expansion pack installed.) familyFunds <familylastname> <amount> = will give that specific family as much money as you want. An example is "familyfunds Johnson 250000". This will give the Johnson family 250,000 simoleons (a Sim's dollars). The maximum amount is 9,999,999 simoleons.The family does not have to have a house to get money this way.

Alternate Method

  1. You can also try this alternate method:
    • Open cheat box.
    • Type in 'boolprop testingcheatsenabled true' (without quotations), then press enter.
    • Press SHIFT+CLICK on a Sim.
    • Click spawn..., then more... and then Sim Modder (Icon looks like a standing baby)
    • Click on the Sim Modder.
    • Click career rewards - all (or change "all" to whatever Sim you want).
    • Go to the career rewards.
    • Find the counterfeiting machine (only available with Sims 2:University expansion pack) and put it on your lawn.
    • Use it. Only if you don't have gold aspiration, though!
    • Wait a few moments, then click the "action icon" in the upper-left corner to make the sim stop the action.
    • Enjoy your free simoleons!

Tips

  • When you get enough money, move them out of their house and into a bigger one that you can afford.
  • Remember that it is motherlode not motherload as some people get confused!
  • This will help you pay off Sim bills.
  • Sims 2 money cheats will override other cheats; so "familyFunds" will override the total amount of money that you used with "motherlode". This is different than Sims 1, where the money accumulates together.
  • Go to edit town and then say move in with family. Kick the family out then you have there house and money.
  • You don't really need a job if you know the cheats.
  • If you don't have enough money in the beginning and you have nowhere to move into, add a small lot and name it "Money Lot". Then, move your family into the "Money Lot" and make the 5000 Simoleons.
