Make Mozzarella Sauce

Add some flavor to your pasta with this creamy sauce recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 28 oz. can tomato puree
  • 4 oz. shredded mozzarella
  • 1 cup lightly packed basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper

Steps

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and sauté for 2 minutes, or until golden brown.
  3. Add tomato puree and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.
  4. Add mozzarella and basil and stir until cheese melts.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.

Tips

  • Great for shell and angel hair pasta.
  • Serves 6 and tops 1 lb. of pasta.
  • Sauce thickens upon standing.

  • Don't leave your cooking unattended.
  • Careful when cooking the oil, as it can splatter.
