Make Non Alcoholic Blue Curacao
Blue curacao is a popular ingredient in many drinks, such as the blue margarita. Traditionally, blue curacao is a liqueur distilled from bitter orange peel, sometimes with the addition of lemon or curacao fruit. However, blue curacao can also be made in a non-alcoholic version with a few surprisingly ordinary kitchen staples.
Ingredients
- 5 ounces (150 ml) orange juice
- Spring water
- Blue food coloring
Steps
- Take a 32 ounce (1 litre) container and fill it with five ounces of orange juice or orange concentrate. You may want to strain the orange juice or choose a low-pulp version.
- Put about 1-2 oz. of blue food coloring in the bottle. You can go by color.
- Fill the rest with spring water.
- Shake it up to make sure all the food coloring has blended.
- Mix a few drops with drink for a bluish color.
Tips
- Try adding finely grated lemon or orange zest.
