Make Non Alcoholic Blue Curacao

Blue curacao is a popular ingredient in many drinks, such as the blue margarita. Traditionally, blue curacao is a liqueur distilled from bitter orange peel, sometimes with the addition of lemon or curacao fruit.[1] However, blue curacao can also be made in a non-alcoholic version with a few surprisingly ordinary kitchen staples.

Ingredients

  • 5 ounces (150 ml) orange juice
  • Spring water
  • Blue food coloring

Steps

  1. Take a 32 ounce (1 litre) container and fill it with five ounces of orange juice or orange concentrate. You may want to strain the orange juice or choose a low-pulp version.
  2. Put about 1-2 oz. of blue food coloring in the bottle. You can go by color.
  3. Fill the rest with spring water.
  4. Shake it up to make sure all the food coloring has blended.
  5. Mix a few drops with drink for a bluish color.
