Mix a Sweet Blue Arctic Cocktail
The sweet blue Arctic (or just "sweet blue") is a refreshing, quite strong cocktail. It's a drink associated with sophistication and general coolness. Although it's definitely an acquired taste, and making one is quite an intricate process, you will soon enjoy one too.
Contents
Ingredients
- 2 parts of blue Curaçao
- 1 part of light gin
- 1 part of dry vermouth
- 1 oz (30 ml) of coconut milk
- Sparkling water
- 1 fresh lemon
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of grenadine
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of simple syrup
- 1 teaspoon (5 grams) of brown sugar
- Ice
- Garnish (cherry or pineapple slice)
Steps
Preparing the Base of the Cocktail
- Pour the blue Curaçao and light gin together into a saucepan or heatproof container. Fill with about a quarter to a third of a glass of liquid.
- Stir the two liquids until both are completely mixed.
- Heat up to just below boiling point.
- Add the brown sugar while it's hot. Then remove from the heat and cool down rapidly by placing it into a freezer after heating.
- Transfer the frozen mixture to the highball glass. Pour the coconut milk and vermouth on top of the frozen mixture. Wait for it to thaw and combine on its own.
Putting the Cocktail Together
- Prepare the ice in a cup while the other part of the cocktail is gently combining on its own. Add the tablespoons of simple syrup and grenadine to the cup.
- Mix the ice, syrup and grenadine in the blender. Blend until it forms a nice, smooth mixture with completely mixed ice.
- Add the ice portion to the cocktail until you have filled about half to two thirds of a glass.
- Squeeze lemon on top for extra freshness.
- Add sparkling water to fill.
Serving the Cocktail
- Garnish with a slice of pineapple and/or a single cherry.
- Serve cold.
- Enjoy!
