Make Oven Baked Rice
Here's an easy and proven method to cook rice in the oven. Cooking rice this way saves energy, especially if you have another dish using the oven at the same time, and the recipe can be easily doubled to serve a crowd.
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup rice, long grain type
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon butter, unsalted is better
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, 180 degrees C.
- Pour water into a 2-cup microwave-safe measuring cup. Bring to a boil in the microwave oven.
- Add the rice, salt and butter to the casserole dish.
- Pour the boiling water into the rice mixture.
- Stir thoroughly to combine the ingredients.
- Cover and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
Tips
- Spray the casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray for easy clean-up.
- Double the recipe by doubling all the ingredients and bake in a 3-quart covered casserole dish.
Warnings
