Make Peanut Butter Fudge Ghosts

These creepy, ghostly Halloween snacks provide the perfect spooky craft and cooking project for kids. Anyone can make peanut butter fudge ghosts by following these easy steps.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz. (340 g) dark chocolate, chopped
  • 12 oz. (340 g) peanut butter, creamy or crunchy
  • 12 oz. (340 g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 tbsp. (40 g) coconut, grated
  • Licorice candy pieces or raisins

Steps

  1. Fill a saucepan half full of water. Bring the water to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Place a stainless steel bowl over the simmering water.
  3. Add the dark chocolate and peanut butter to the stainless steel bowl. Stir the ingredients occasionally with a plastic spoon until both are fully melted.
  4. Pour the sweetened condensed milk into the stainless steel bowl. Whisk the ingredients together and remove the bowl from the top of the saucepan. Allow the fudge ingredients to cool slightly.
  5. Dump the fudge into a shallow pan of any size and spread it evenly with an offset spatula.
  6. Refrigerate the fudge for half an hour.
  7. Remove the fudge from the refrigerator. Scoop out a generous tablespoon of fudge and roll it in your hands.
  8. Mold the fudge into the shape of a ghost. Pinch the top gently to make a simple, rounded cone shape. Place the fudge ghost onto a tray or cookie sheet. Continue molding ghost shapes until you've used all of your fudge.
  9. Wash and dry your hands. Place your coconut and licorice pieces into small bowls. Sprinkle the ghosts with the grated coconut.
  10. Press the licorice pieces into the ghosts' heads to make eyes. This will complete your design.

Tips

  • If you don't like coconut, you can sprinkle the ghosts with white chocolate shavings instead.
  • You can get as creative as you want with the ghost shapes. For example, you can add arms and odd-shaped heads with big noses or chins.

Warnings

  • Avoid using natural peanut butter to make your fudge. The recipe will turn out better if you use conventional peanut butter instead.
