Make Wine by the Bottle
A tried and true method!
Steps
- Mix all the ingredients (list below) except the yeast.
- Allow to stand for 24 hours, then add yeast.
- Allow to ferment in an open container for 5 days covered with a plastic trash bag to keep the dust out.
- Syphon into a one gallon jug and place under airlock for 1 month. You should notice the wine beginning to clear by now.
- Syphon off the lees into a clean jug and allow to set until clear.
Tips
- All of the equipment and chemicals can be purchase at a wine making supply shop in your area or online.
- Patience is the number one rule of wine making. Take your time and you will be rewarded with a wonderful beverage.
- After fermenting for 5 days add more sugar to pump up the alcohol content for a more potent wine.
Warnings
- Always allow head room in your fermenter as the wine has a tendency to foam in the early stages. A two gallon bucket for a one gallon batch.

- 2 tsp acid blend
- 1/2 tsp pectic enzyme

- 1 campden tablet crushed
- 1 pkg wine yeast
