Make Your Own Ringtones for Verizon Phones

Don't want to spend a buck on a ringtone? Want to chose which part of the song you want? Well this article will tell you how to make a free ringtone on a Verizon phone.

Steps

  1. Go to your music library on iTunes on your computer.
  2. Choose a song you already own.
  3. Find a 30 second or less section of the song and write down the times.
  4. Right click and go to get info.
  5. Go to the options tab and click the check box for start and stop times and enter your times.
  6. Click ok and preview your soon to be ringtone.
  7. Right click the song fragment and click create AAC version.
  8. Uncheck the 30 second fragment settings on the original song so you can continue to hear the song in iTunes at full length. Keep the 30 second fragment file though.
  9. Find the 30 second fragment file in your documents.
  10. Depending on the type of Verizon phone you have, you may need to convert the file extension to .mp3.
  11. Email it to the SMS number of your phone. In other words email it to <your number>@vzwpix.com i.e 2456587566@vzwpix.com
  12. Open the song on your phone. When you receive your song, let it play for a sec then you can save as ringtone.



Tips

  • For best results keep your sound statistics as follows:
    • Sample Rate 22050 or less
    • Duration 30 seconds or less
    • Save as mp3 @ 128K
  • Use Audacity to amplify your track.
