Make Your Room Look Boho or Bohemian

Bohemian style is all about having a creative, artistic, free-spirited look. Typically, people dress in Boho style, but you can also bring Boho to your bedroom!

Steps

  1. Start looking for some boho-like items:
    • Old, vintage furniture is very bohemian. You can get this from second hand shops.
      • Interesting, beautiful, vintage clothing and jewelry.
      • Different kinds of patterned material that you like; you can get this from anywhere, especially fabric stores!
      • Mirrors can fit the Bohemian look, especially big ones with nice frames.
      • Incense, and incense holders are very boho.
  2. Start collecting or buying other random beautiful, interesting things just because you like the look of them. You can collect things like vases, teapots, pots, dolls, purses, posters, pictures, picture frames, dream catchers and anything else that you see that you like! You can get these things from places like, op-shops, second hand clothes shops, second hand book shops and many other places.
  3. Once you have some of the boho things listed above, you can start putting around your room!
  4. Decide whether to keep or remove furniture in your room that looks too modern. Modern furniture mixed with vintage stuff can still look boho. More importantly, take away any furniture that you don't like, or feel you don't want anymore, and replace it with something you like!
  5. Place your mirror/s around the room.
  6. *A good idea is to place a mirror above a chest of drawers or a table so you can create a sort of dressing-table.
  7. On the dressing table you can put vases, teapots and other pots on it, and on them you can put earrings, bracelets, or any other things you can think of.
  8. Hang necklaces over the corner of you mirror. You can also do this with beads, knotted string, shoelaces, cool strings and anything else that comes to mind.
  9. You can cover the table with lots of make-up, if you'd like!
  10. You can also write things on your mirror or draw things on it with make-up, and stick things on it with tacky glue.
  11. Try sticking different things to your mirror or even your windows if it's removable or you have permission.
  12. Create interesting curtains. Get some pieces of interesting material, sew them together so they are of the correct shape of your window, and then hang it up.
  13. Get a cork board, and pin a piece of material onto it. Then put whatever you want on it! Pin pictures of friends and family, but out little pictures you like in magazines, pin beads and/or string onto it, write on it! Things that inspire you, or look really cool.
