Make a Basic Indian Gravy
Do you like spicy food or Indian flavors? Here is the recipe for a flavorful gravy that can be converted into many different entrees.
Ingredients
- 2 medium-sized onions (chopped)
- 5 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tbsp. ginger garlic paste
- 3 tbsp. oil
- 1 tbsp. coriander power
- 1 tsp. mild chili powder
- 1 tbsp. hot chili powder
- 1 tsp. garam masala powder or curry powder
- 3 cans of kidney or garbanzo beans
- salt to taste
Steps
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute.
- Add chopped onions and fry till translucent
- Add chopped tomatoes and fry till the gravy becomes like a paste. Almost takes 10 - 15 minutes.
- Add coriander powder, curry powder/ garam masala powder, chili powder and salt.
- Fry for another 2 minutes. Now the gravy is ready.
- Add a combination of cauliflower, potato or peas and add enough water and cook until it becomes soft, and finally three cans of either garbanzo or kidney beans.
- Finished.
