Make a Doritos Taco Salad

This delicious meal is a great way to use taco leftovers. It also makes a good snack or an easy lunch to bring to work.Serves 2

Ingredients

  • ¼ head iceberg lettuce
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 ounces ground beef or turkey (or both)
  • ¼ package taco seasoning
  • ½ tomato
  • ¼ onion
  • 1 bag Doritos (crushed), snack pack or vending machine size
  • ¼ bottle Catalina dressing, or dressing of choice

Steps

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet pan and season with the taco seasoning. Drain any liquid from the meat and put it on the side to cool.
  2. Prepare the vegetables. Chop the lettuce, onion, and tomato. Put the pieces in a large bowl.
  3. Sprinkle the cheese and crushed Doritos over the vegetables.
  4. Fry the ground turkey. Also season with taco seasoning.
  5. Add the ground beef and ground turkey to the vegetables.
  6. Pour the dressing over everything.
  7. Serve immediately.

Tips

  • If preparing the salad ahead of time for lunch at work or school, keep the bag of Doritos separate so they stay crunchy. Add the chips just before eating.
  • Sour cream or guacamole can be added if desired, or in place of salad dressing.
