Make a Double Decker Grilled Cheese

Enjoy a simple and time saving snack that you can make under ten minutes, so a grilled cheese is the perfect snack! But if you are one with a bigger appetite then you might want to consider this recipe!

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 slices bread
  • American sliced cheese

Steps

  1. Heat a frying pan on medium heat.
  2. Spread at least 2 teaspoons of butter on each of the 3 slices of bread.
  3. Make a regular grilled cheese sandwich in the pan. Flip it over when it's toasted.
  4. Add the 2nd slice of cheese on top and layer the 3rd slice of bread.
  5. Carefully flip it over to toast the new slice of bread.
  6. Remove from the heat and enjoy.
  7. Finished.

Tips

  • For added flavour try adding ham or tomatoes to your double-decker grilled cheese
  • You can keep using this method using more than three slices of bread for up to however many slices you want. Just keep flipping the bread and adding on to it.
  • Use a cast-iron pan or a good non-stick pan
  • Use more than one type and cheese for one sandwich.
  • Try adding garlic salt along with the butter for extra taste
  • If you are in the mood to be creative you could also use different shaped cutters and make your double-decker grilled cheese into fun shapes!

  • When stacking the cheese slices, try using different types of cheese for a tastier sandwich.

Warnings

  • Let the sandwich cool a bit before eating because the cheese inside may be too hot and you could burn the inside of your mouth
  • Make sure you turn the burner off and do not touch with your hands.
