Steps
Designing the Heart Frame
- Bend the wire 120 degrees to the left. Start at the end of the wire.
- Measure it out two inches.
- That is where you will make your first bend.
- Bend the wire at the angle you have made in the opposite direction in the form of a semi-circle. This angle is approximately 22 degrees.
- At the end of the new curve, go {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} down the wire and angle it so the end point will match with the heart's center point in Step 1. From the top of the heart to the endpoint of this step, measures about {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}}.
- Repeat steps 1-3 to form the other side of the heart.
- When making the bend on Step 1, instead of measuring out {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} for your bending point, measure out {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} instead. You want a little excess of the gauge wire to be used to hang the ornament.
Making the Hanging Piece
- At this point, have your frame already completed. There should be excess wire at the top of the heart that will be used to make the piece for your ornament to hang from.
- Lay the two excess pieces so they overlap one another. Coil them around one another.
- Use the pliers to wrap the excesses pieces around one another until the shorter piece is wrapped. . Coil the end of the excess wire in the form of an overlapping circle.
- Use the pliers to grip the wire and slowly bend the tip inward as if you were forming a circle.
- The hanging portion is now complete.
Beading the Ornament
- Wrap the heart shaped wire with a jute string.
- Continue wrapping until you reach the end of the wire.
- Get a jewelry wire and tie it on the left side of the heart.Make sure it is secured enough.
- Begin beading the wire until you reach the other side of the frame.
- Use any pattern that you are pleased with. Just ensure you leave enough room to wrap the wire around the frame to ensure the beads do not fall off.
- Repeat step 1 and 2 until your heart is full of the design you wish to accomplish.
- Finished.
Tips
- Make sure you measure the distance from one side of the heart frame to the other so you know how long to make your wire. This also allows you to estimate the number of beads you will use on that particular piece.
- Pick out a certain pattern of beading and start placing beads through the gauge wire all the way to the end until where it is secured on the other end.
- Once the beading is complete for that gauge wire, be sure to tightly twist the ends to the frame of the heart and lock the wire to the frame.
Warnings
- The gauge wire could be sharp at the ends so proceed with caution.
- Be careful using the pliers.
- Do not bend the wires too much or they can break.
- The beads need to be able to fit on the wire so ensure they are large enough.
