Make a Mexican Pie

- 1 Cup of Cornmeal
- 1 Cup of Olives
- Chili powder (optional)
- Butter
- 1 Chopped Onion
- 1 Diced Green Pepper
- 1 Pound of Ground Beef
- 2 Cups of Tomatoes
- Salt
- Water
Steps
Before preparing the main dish...
- Place a large skillet on the stove and add 1 pound of ground beef.
- Once the ground beef begins to brown, move on to the preparation stage.
Preparation
- Start heating your water in a cooking pot on the stove to a boil.
- Add 1 cup of cornmeal and a bit of salt into the boiling water and stir it thoroughly.
- Add 1 cup of olives into the cornmeal and move the pot to the side to cool down.
- Make sure your ground beef is fully cooked and drained, then add 2 cups of tomatoes, your onions and green peppers into the large skillet.
- Put half of the cornmeal mixture into a baking dish. Layer the cooked beef on top of the cornmeal. Add the rest of the cornmeal on top.
- Bake in an oven for 10 minutes and enjoy your food!
Tips
- The quantity of the salt depends on your own preference. But approximately one teaspoon is used.
- You can melt some butter into the onion.
- The chili powder is also a good choice to make the dish tastier.

- The temperature of the oven should be set at 175ºC (347ºF)
