Make a Milo Milkshake
These instructions are for making a Milo milkshake with a touch of Golden Syrup. Golden Syrup is widely available in the UK and Australia; you can find it in specialty food stores in North America. Milo is a powdered chocolate and malt drink made in Australia; you may be able to find a substitute in your part of the world.
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh, cold milk for each milkshake
- 4 heaped teaspoons Milo powder
- 1-2 scoops of ice cream
- And add 2 tsp of Nescafe for iced coffee taste
Steps
- Assemble ingredients (see "Ingredients") above.
- Combine all ingredients together in a blender.
- Blend for 3 minutes at a moderate speed.
- Pour into glass and enjoy.
Tips
- You can use the same basic recipe but vary the flavours. Try a banana or cocoa instead of the Milo. Keep the Golden Syrup addition for that special flavour.
- When you are blending, switch it off when it is all light and frothy; this may be earlier than the suggested 3 minutes, so keep an eye on it.
- Make sure there is enough space to work! Start with clean counter tops, and use a sterilizer or germ killing spray. This not only prevents accidents in the kitchen but will also keep contamination of prep area and food/drinks within the area to a minimum.
Warnings
- Make sure the blender is switched off at the wall before pouring, to avoid any problems with electricity and cords.
- Follow the measurements suggested; don't overdo them.
