A mining pure is a character that has reached level 99 in mining skills, and has not worked on any other skills. The following article can also be used by anyone looking to increase their mining skills, not just to create a pure.
Steps
- Learn the basics about Mine in RuneScape and Powermine in RuneScape.
- To reach level 15:
- Obtain the bronze pickaxe.
- Go to the mine below Varrock East Bank.
- Mine the copper and tin from the rocks.
- Once you have a full inventory of copper and tin, either go to the Varrock east bank and store the ores, or drop them from your inventory (powermining).
- Repeat this until you reach level 15.
- Go to the bank and turn all of the copper and tin ore you have collected into bank notes.
- Walk to the Grand Exchange, which is just above Varrock West bank, and sell your copper and tin.
- To reach level 31:
- Buy a steel pickaxe from Nurmof's pickax store in the Dwarven Mines north of Falador.
- Walk to the mine below Varrock and mine the iron rocks.
- When you have a full inventory of iron ore, walk back to the Varrock East bank and store your iron there.
- Repeat until you reach level 31.
- Walk to the bank and turn all your iron ore into bank notes.
- Walk to the Grand Exchange and sell your iron ore.
- To reach level 41:
- Go to Nurmof's shop and buy an Adamant pickaxe. If you have enough money, you can also buy a Rune Pickaxe to save you the trip later. Or go to the Grand Exchange as you'll pay less there!
- Teleport to Lumbridge with the home teleport spell and go South until you reach a mine with only copper and tin ore. Then walk west until you see another mine with some coal rocks.
- Mine coal.
- When you have a full inventory of coal, go to Draynor Bank and drop the coal off there.
- Repeat until you reach level 41.
- Go to a bank and note your coal, then go to the Grand Exchange and sell them.
- To reach level 60:
- Go to a bank and get your Rune pickaxe. If you do not have one, go to Nurmof's and buy one.
- Mine coal or mithril ore. Mithril is worth more, but it takes a longer time to mine.
- Mine and bank until you reach a mining level of 60.
- Enter the Mining Guild. Congratulations on making it this far!
- Continue mining coal or mithril until you reach a mining level of 70. Now you can mine adamantite ore, which is very valuable! There is a door on the other side of the mines leading to the Dwarven mines, an absolutely great area to get gold and melt to sell as gold bars which will make a lot of RS Cash.
- Mine coal, mithril, or adamantite until your mining level reaches 85. Now you can mine the greatest ore of all: Rune!
- By the end of this guide and after completing it you should have millions of money, now it's time to get the other skills up. Have fun and enjoy Runescape.
Tips
- IT MIGHT BE PAINFUL - But the fastest way to level mining is power mining Iron Ore (best spot is three rocks west of Ardy. To make it go faster, advert on the forums you'll be giving out free iron ore. Trading your invent will make it easier than dropping; however, it is possible to time it just right and drop ore while moving between rocks. Warning: this requires constant clicking.
- Be very patient. You're not going to get 99 mining in a day, it takes months and months.
- After you get level 99 mining, get a mining skillcape. You can show off this skill and do the mining emote.
- You can always purchase pickaxes from the Grand Exchange cheaper than the ones you can get from Nurmof.
- Nurmof is this little dwarf man found deep inside the mines of falador, also called the dwarvern mines.
- Bob in Lumbridge (Battleaxe Salesman) will no longer repair broken pickaxes, as breaking a pickaxe is now no longer possible.
- The rune ore is very hard to locate, but you can still find it. I is located in Edgeville-wildy at level 48 wilderness, so it is recommended that you ask a bodyguard to guard you in case there are any players wandering around.
- Now that Runescape added revenants, you should send a group of trustful people to guard you, as revenants over level 100 have been seen and screened.
- If your Dungeoneering level is above 45 and that your mining level is 60+, you can access the resource dungeon inside the mining guild. Inside are 6 mithril rocks, 4 adamantite rocks, and 3 runite rocks. On full worlds the sites are very competitive, as more and more people reach 45 dungeoneering, more people can access the dungeon.
