Make a Movie from Games on Your PC

Do you often think from time to time about making your own story from a certain type of game that is on your computer?

Steps

  1. Download Fraps from fraps.com. Or, try HyperCam- it's a great video capture device, like fraps, but unlimited recording. If you register, you get rid of the little tag in the corner that says "Unregistered HyperCam".
  2. If you are a fan of Open Source software and are using Windows, you can also try Taksi from http://taksi.sourceforge.net/.
  3. Once you have downloaded Fraps from fraps.com save it to any partition or drive. Now install it and find the icon on your desktop and click it.
  4. Fraps may give you a rectangular screen that states you should register if you want more than 30 seconds of recording. This shouldn't stop you from doing anything in the world. You will still have 30 seconds of course but if you want more you have to go to fraps.com and register.
  5. Go to the movies tab, and change your recording to anything you want it to be.
  6. Then minimize it and start up your bought game.
  7. When you enter the game you may find a yellow number that keeps going back and forth. That is your frame rates and you do not want to have that go down the lowest. You can change the frame rates you want for your recording.
  8. Now that you have your game running start to play it for a while. After playing for a while, press the key you put for recording and your yellow numbers will start to turn red. Don't be worried, you will not crash your computer.
  9. After thirty seconds, it will change back to yellow which means it has stopped recording.
  10. Exit the game now and go to the bottom-right hand corner of your screen where there is a fraps icon on it.
  11. Right-click on it and click view movies.
  12. It will take you to a folder where your recordings should be.
  13. Use any recordings you made and use them in your video editing software.

Tips

  • If you want to have a person talking you have to make a person with his mouth open and with his mouth closed. Then you must use sound recorder and make it like a cartoon and use the cartoon and mic together to make a whole conversation, This really works great for your movies.

Warnings

  • Be careful, Windows Movie Maker might fail in the middle of your project. PLEASE SAVE OFTEN!!!
