Make a Plain Cake

Are you having trouble with making cakes? Then worry no longer. Follow these simple steps for making a plain cake which is very tasty, delicious and mouth-watering.

Ingredients

  • 100 grams (3/4 cup) of all purpose flour
  • 100 grams (1/2 cup) of plain/caster sugar
  • 100 grams (1/2 cup) of oil
  • 3 eggs, optional
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder (if you want to make a chocolate cake)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/4 cup of milk

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven at {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}}.
  2. Sieve flour and baking powder in a bowl.
  3. Add cocoa powder and set it aside (if you're making a chocolate cake).
  4. Beat the eggs.
  5. Add the sugar to the eggs and beat it properly until it becomes smooth.
  6. Add oil and then beat it again until smooth.
  7. Add the vanilla essence if you want.
  8. Add the flour mixture to the batter and beat it lightly(do not use an electrical beater while beating the flour). Then add the milk(sometimes you need more or less milk. The milk moisturizes the cake and keeps the cake from getting too hard).
  9. Put the cake mixture aside.
  10. Take a square or a circular tin and insert baking paper.
    • If you don't have any baking paper, grease the inside of the tin and the inside sides of the tin with butter or cooking spray and dust with flour.
  11. Pour the batter in the tin.
  12. Put the cake mixture into the oven for 1 hour.
  13. When it is finished, insert a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean, it's done. If not, bake it for a few more minutes.
  14. After the cake is baked, let it rest in the oven for 2-4 minutes.
  15. Take out and serve.
