Make a Toasted Almond Martini
A Toasted Almond martini is made with amaretto liqueur, Kahlua and cream or half and half. A maraschino cherry can garnish the cocktail. The almond flavor is imparted by the amaretto (almond) liqueur, while the Kahlua imparts a complex coffee flavor. The cream or half and half makes the cocktail rich and luscious.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz (45 mL) amaretto liqueur
- 1 oz (30 mL) Kahlua
- 1 oz (30 mL) cream or half and half
- 1 or a few maraschino cherries
Steps
- Add ice to a cocktail shaker.
- Add the amaretto liqueur, Kahlua and cream to the cocktail shaker.
- Cap the shaker.
- Shake the ingredients vigorously for about five seconds.
- Strain into a cocktail glass. A dense, creamy foam should form on the surface of the cocktail.
- Garnish with the cherry. One or more cherries can be speared on a toothpick and rested on the rim of the glass. It is fine if the cherry is partially in the drink, but the cherry should be visible and therefore not totally submerged.
- Serve the drink.
