Make a Watermelon Martini

Take out your Martini Glass, pick up a good book, and enjoy a Delicious Martini with a different twist. Make enough for two, when you want to share it with a special friend. Either way, this is a new twist on the use for watermelon.

This recipe serves one.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz. (45 mL) vodka
  • 1/2 ounce (15 mL) lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce (15 mL) Triple Sec
  • 6 frozen watermelon cubes (about 1/2 inch square each)
  • 1/2 shaker of ice
  • 1/2 ounce (15 mL) Chambord

Steps

  1. Place all ingredients in a shaker and shake until very well chilled, about 15 seconds. Be careful not to over shake as this dilutes the drink.
  2. Strain into a chilled martini glass. A properly shaken Martini will have a very thin layer of ice crystals floating on top after it is strained into the glass.
  3. Finished.

Tips

  • Shake the Martini long enough and with enough vigor to get the layer of crystals.

Warnings

  • This contains alcohol. Be careful, don't drink too much!
  • This is habit forming, because it is so refreshing and has a different taste than the usual Martini.
