Persuade Your Parents to Buy You an Xbox 360

So, you've been waiting for that Xbox 360 since the day it was released, and your birthday is just a few weeks away. This may be one of the perfect times to get a new game system.

Steps

  1. Tell your parents why you want an Xbox 360. You may need to have a reason to back you up if your parents say "Why?". If it is close to the end of the school year, say that you'll get good grades at the end of the school year and throughout the upcoming year.
  2. Give your parents the Xbox website, which is http://www.xbox.com/en-US/. They can find more information about the Xbox 360 there.
  3. Tell them reasons why the Xbox 360 is one of the top consoles ever. If you need some reference to back you up in your explanation, go over to Wikipedia and just search up Xbox 360, or go over to YouTube and watch Xbox 360 reviews from IGN and GameSpot.
  4. Pull your parents aside to take a quick peek at the Xbox 360's, if you go to a store. Xbox 360s are sold at many retail stores like WalMart.
  5. Ask for it as a birthday present, if it is close to your birthday. If it is not, you could say a sibling has got an expensive item (or even an Xbox 360) and say it would be fair to buy you an Xbox 360 for that reason. Just make it sure that your sibling actually has got that item.
  6. Make a promise that let your parents take your Xbox 360 away if you do something bad, if they decide to buy it for you. For example, if you get a C- or below on a test in any of your classes, let them take it away until your next test in any class, and if it is above a C-, let them give it back to you. By doing this, you are showing your parents that you can be responsible for yourself.
  7. Give yourself a pat on the back, if your parents end up buying you an Xbox 360.

Tips

  • Act like an adult if they say "no." Being whiny when they say "no" will just decrease your chances of getting it in the future and you might just have to buy it on your own.
  • Be patient if your parents are thinking about it. The way the economy is right now, it might take a while to get a Xbox 360. An Xbox 360 costs money.
  • This might be easier if you have a parent that enjoys playing video games. Then again, it might offer no help at all.
  • If you get your Xbox 360, let your parents play also. Don't hog it.
  • Say you will add in some money, this will increase the chances of you getting your XBox360 especially if your a teenager.
