    • On the PC version you can hold down ctrl-shift-c and then type in kaching for 1,000 simoleons (Money) or motherlode for 50,000.
  3. Purchase items for your house. Pressing the chair and table button will prompt a menu of purchasable items..

    • If you can't decide, look at their wishes and it will usually say what they prefer.

    • Ambitions: Sims have the opportunity to a wider range of careers, such as a tattoo artist or a firefighter.
    • Late Night: Clubbing and lounges are introduced in the game, as well as celebrities and vampires.
    • Generations: Along with the standard age groups (baby, child, teen, young adult, adult, and elderly), your Sims can now have themes and different abilities to each own.

    • Into the Future: Take your sims into the future to learn new skills!

Tips

  • You might also have to have a good relationship with your boss or coworkers. If you want to increase your relationship quality with your boss and coworkers, throw a party with them.
  • You might have to increase a certain skill in your Sims job. To find this out, click the career tab. It shows what level you need to be. If you want your work schedule, click on "Career".
  • Don't rely on moodlets to tell you when your Sims need something. It would be easier to check your Sim's needs frequently. You could do this before going to bed, before going to school or work, or before you visit a house or community lot.
  • Your Sim's traits open that Sim to a whole world of possibility and new actions. For example, Kleptomaniacs can steal things(only three a day) and while reading a newspaper, Frugal Sims can clip coupons to save money. You even get a positive moodlet for it.
  • Update the game regularly. Updating is free and you will be alerted once you start the game if an update is available. Updates can give you lots more things, such as downloadable content, and more ways to change your Sims. As of 2011, you can now add zodiac signs for your Sims and many more options.
  • Make sure to lock your front or back door in case of a robbery. Also be sure to turn off the ovens and fireplaces before going to bed.

Warnings

  • Don't leave your game running while you aren't playing without pausing the time. Even on free will, Sims have a tendency to not pay the bills when they come.
  • Don't try to kill your Sims! It is mean-spirited.
  • Try not to put poor character traits; if you do, AI sims (sims that you do not control) can give your sim(s) bad luck.
