Recover Deleted Files on Mac OS X with Disk Drill
Do you need to recover deleted files in Mac OS X, such as important documents, photos, music, or videos? Have files or whole partitions disappeared from your Mac? Disk Drill can be used to retrieve deleted files on Mac products including memory cards, external hard drives, USB flash drives, and other devices. To recover lost files for Mac devices, Disk Drill offers various scanning methods from the Quick Scan method to the more extensive Deep Scan option. Choosing which method to use is quick and easy because the software program will run through all these different versions for you with just the click of a button!
Steps
- Download and install the Disk Drill. The tool will be placed into your downloads folder.
- Launch Disk Drill Software. Then simply drag-and-drop for easiest access into your applications folder. When you begin to run the program, you will be asked a series of questions. Disk Drill will ask for your unique administration password on the very first launch. This gives the program permission to scan your hard drives to recover deleted files for Mac products.
- Allow the installation process to go through. Once it is up and running, a window will appear with a list of hard drives partitions that are available for file retrieval. Select the proper drive in which you believe the original file was initially located. Click on the appropriate drive or partition, and then move towards the recovery button that is located directly to the right. By clicking on this button, Disk Drill will then sort through all the various scanning methods in an attempt to locate your missing, deleted, or corrupted files. You can also click on the drop-down arrow that is immediately next to the recover button, choosing an individual scanning method of your choice if you prefer.
- Select your deleted data. Once the software has completed its scan, a list of appropriate files will appear on your screen, files that were detected to have previously existed on your hard drives. In the Deep Scan method, documents will be listed according to file type and category. You can preview the file in advance to make sure that this file is exactly what you need.
- Recover your deleted files. Once you have selected your files, select the location where you want to save the recovered data and then click the Recover button. If you are using Quick Scan or Deep Scan and haven't upgraded to the PRO version yet, you will be prompted to do so. Once you complete your upgrade, click Recover to begin the recovery of your deleted Mac files.
