Remove Nuts from Their Skin
The brown skin of a nut lends a contrast in color for visual appeal. Since it is bitter in taste, however, some people would prefer nuts without skin.

Steps
Soaking Nuts
- Soak almonds in boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Peel off the moistened skin promptly.
Baking Nuts
- Place hazelnuts on a baking sheet and heat the over at {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}}. Bake them for about 12 to 15 minutes, or just until fragrance starts to develop.
- Remove from oven and place in a clean cloth towel.
- Rub hazelnuts in the towel and most of the skin will come off.
Tips
- It's very time-consuming to try to get all the skin off hazelnuts. So, it's alright if hazelnuts still have tiny pecks of skin on them.
Warnings
- Remove moistened almond skin promptly to prevent it from discoloring the nuts.
