To return to work after a breakup, you need to focus on the relationships and actual work you enjoyed in your workplace. There should be at least one person in your workplace you have a connection to and there is at least one thing you like about your actual work - even if it is just taking a phone call or speaking with others. Focus on your connections with people, with strengthening them and also with helping others. This will help you to stop thinking of how miserable you are all the time.
Steps
- Revamp or organize the clothes you're going to wear to work.
- Give yourself plenty of time to get organized for the first week or so. Get everything ready the night before; a good night's sleep, exercise, healthy food.
- Do not allow yourself the luxury of a negative thought about work.
- Concentrate on your relationships at work. Be pleasant, make connections, be social yet professional, act happy even if you're not.
- Help others who may be feeling worse than you!
