Rid Acne Scars With Shea Butter

Many of us, teens or young adult have had to deal with acne at some point and time. Eventually, it goes away, but what about the Post Inflammatory Erythema left behind?

Steps

  1. Go to the beauty supply store and buy Pure 100% Crushed African Shea Butter. You can search online for stores that sell it or find this online if the local beauty supply doesn't carry it.
  2. Wash your face with a pH balanced cleanser of 5&1/2. Take time to really massage the cleanser onto your skin to get a good clean face.
  3. Pat dry your face with a towel. Use a clean towel or air-dry your face as repeated use with the same medium may encourage bacterial growth.
  4. Afterwards, apply the Shea Butter in your hands until it softens. Smooth it on your face and apply evenly wherever your acne scars are. As Shea Butter is a very heavy moisturizer, use sparingly.

Tips

  • Wash your face in the morning and night.
  • Buy a small amount of Shea Butter as it may not suit your skin type. Also, Shea Butter spoils quickly.
  • Shea Butter is found as an ingredient in many moisturizers. It may be unnecessary to buy Shea Butter exclusively.
  • You do not have to be Black or African American to use Shea Butter. You can be White, Hispanic, Asian, Middle Eastern or any other ethnicity or race. As Shea is native to Africa, hence it is named after the continent it is found.

Warnings

  • Be hesitant of marketing of exoticized miracle ingredients.
  • Shea Butter will improve the appearance of skin by moisturizing but it will not "get rid" of acne. It may in fact be comedogenic. Use an AHA or BHA to improve the remnants of acne instead.
