Set Up the Toyota Entune App
Newer model Toyota vehicles come with Toyota Entune. Different cars models come with slightly different app packages; this wikiHow will focus on the 2017 Prius with the Premium Entune package, but for the most part, setup is the same on different packages. The different packages relate to the applications installed on your vehicle, such as navigation.
Steps
Downloading the App
- Download the Toyota Entune App from the App Store. Then launch it.
- Log in or create an account. In order to initially create an account, you will need to have the VIN from your vehicle handy.
- Review your confirmation. On the home screen you should see a picture of your vehicle displayed, along with some basic dashboard information.
- On the Premium package, there is the option to save up to 10 favorite destinations on your Navigation. This information will sync with your vehicle for quick reference once your phone is connected.
Connecting to the App
- Go to your vehicle. Take your phone with you.
- Launch the app on your phone and log in. On the dashboard, you will see "Ready to connect to your vehicle." Click the link and follow the prompts on the next screen.
- Turn your vehicle to the 'on' position by pressing the start button twice.
- Press the "Apps" button on your dash, located just above the volume knob. Then hit "Setup".
- Go to "Phone" > "Connect Phone." Once in the "Connect Phone" screen, you will see a list of phones connected through the bluetooth device.
- Find "Add" at the bottom to add a new device.
- Exit out of your Entune App on your phone. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings (often found under "Settings" > "Bluetooth") and search for your vehicle. Connect using your usual Bluetooth setup process.
- Go back to your Entune App. Keep in mind that you will not be able to edit or do things in the Entune App, while connected to your vehicle’s bluetooth.
- Turn your vehicle off or disconnect from the bluetooth when you're done.
Customizing Entune
- Set up music access within Entune App.
- Launch the Entune App.
- Click the "App Suite" icon on the bottom of your screen.
- Connect your iHeart Radio, Slacker Radio, and MovieTickets accounts. Click "Link" next to the appropriate selection and enter your log in information. After this is completed, you will be able to access these apps directly from your vehicles touch screen display.
- Add another vehicle or remove an existing vehicle.
- Launch your Toyota Entune app.
- Click on the bottom right icon labeled "Account".
- Click on "Vehicle." Here you have the option to add, edit, or remove a vehicle. You will need the VIN, just as you did during initial set up, to add another vehicle.
Tips
*If you are in a household that shares vehicles, you can connect your vehicle’s VIN on up to 5 Entune accounts. The reason you would want to create your own account rather than share one is because of the “link” accounts option on iHeart, Pandora, etc. If you share an account with someone, you would only be able to link one user account with Entune, so you won't necessarily have access to your “favorite” channels, customized listener settings, etc.
