Replace an Auxilary Input Component in Toyota Matrix
These steps will tell you how to replace an auxiliary input component in a 2009 - 13 Toyota Matrix.
Steps
- Be sure that the car is turned off.
- Remove the keys from the ignition and pull the hand brake up.
- Open the center console hatch.
- Use your fingers to pry open the center console, starting from the top to the auxilary input location.
- After removing the center console, the auxilary componenet should be visible and easy to reach.
- Carefully pull out the auxilary input component.
- Locate and push the release button behind the auxiilary input component. *This will release the auxilary input component from the power supply.
- connect the new auxilary input jack to the power supply. You should hear a click if connected properly.
- Reinstall the center console, making sure it is alligned properly. You should hear a click if alligned properly.
- Relase the hand brake.
- Put the key in the ignition and turn it to ACC.
- Turn the radio on to make sure it is working properly.
- Close the center console hatch.

Warnings
- Be careful when releasing the auxiliary input component from the power supply as the cables can easily come apart.
