Replace an Auxilary Input Component in Toyota Matrix

These steps will tell you how to replace an auxiliary input component in a 2009 - 13 Toyota Matrix.

Steps

  1. Be sure that the car is turned off.
  2. Remove the keys from the ignition and pull the hand brake up.
  3. Open the center console hatch.
  4. Use your fingers to pry open the center console, starting from the top to the auxilary input location.
  5. After removing the center console, the auxilary componenet should be visible and easy to reach.
  6. Carefully pull out the auxilary input component.
  7. Locate and push the release button behind the auxiilary input component. *This will release the auxilary input component from the power supply.
  8. connect the new auxilary input jack to the power supply. You should hear a click if connected properly.
  9. Reinstall the center console, making sure it is alligned properly. You should hear a click if alligned properly.
  10. Relase the hand brake.
  11. Put the key in the ignition and turn it to ACC.
  12. Turn the radio on to make sure it is working properly.
  13. Close the center console hatch.

  • Be careful when releasing the auxiliary input component from the power supply as the cables can easily come apart.
