Survive Valentine's Day Single

It's a sad fact, but a lot of people are single on Valentine's Day. And it is a very depressing day without someone special. This article will show you how to survive Valentine's Day single.

Steps

  1. Realize that Valentine's Day is only made for money. Valentine's Day is not actually something like a prom, it's only for people to make money from all the roses and chocolates people buy (when you think about that you will feel less sad). (A Catholic/Christian view: Valentine's Day is the feast day of Saint Valentine, patron saint of lovers).
  2. You are not alone. Around 60 million people in the world will be spending this holiday single.
  3. Spend Valentine's Day with a friend or family. Valentine's Day doesn't have to be with a partner; it can be with a friend or family and you can show them how much you care by going out and buying them a rose.
  4. Avoid braggers. People who brag about their partner will get you down, so avoid people like this. Stay with someone who is single on Valentine's Day so you both can understand how you both feel.
  5. Avoid couples. If you have a friend who is with their partner, it's in your best interest to stay away from them, even if they ask you to go somewhere with them it's not a good idea. It's Valentine's Day, so obviously there will be a lot of affection and if you see that it will ruin your week and also you will feel like you're just tagging along and this will also hurt your feelings.
  6. Entertain yourself. Just because it's Valentine's Day doesn't mean you have to celebrate it. Do something that will take your mind off things.

Tips

  • Spend time with a pet. Pets will always love you.
  • Just because you're single for Valentine's Day doesn't mean you will be single forever.
  • Think of the less fortunate people in the world, many of them who are fleeing homes from war, people living under dictatorships, starving kids, etc. You will realize that being single on Valentine's Day is nothing to compared to what they have to go through every day.
  • Spend time with friends and family. Valentine's Day is about loving the people around you, even if it isn't a partner.
  • And if you're not with anyone, it doesn't mean no one loves you. You probably have a secret admirer somewhere.
  • Buying yourself roses and chocolates might help you.
  • If you can you could try to hook up on Valentine's.

Warnings

  • If you do ask someone out on Valentine's Day, be warned, if you do get rejected you will feel worse than you already do, so if you have a feeling that it might not work don't even try. You don't want to feel any worse.
  • If you're feeling very depressed, don't stay by yourself. Always stay with someone so you can feel a bit better and many people love you.
