Ever needed to take a screenshot on your Mac computer? Here is how to take a screenshot.

Take a Picture of the whole screen
- Press Command (⌘)-Shift-3
Take a Picture of part of the screen
- Press Command (⌘)-Shift-4, and then drag the cross-hair pointer to select the area.
- Continue to press the mouse button, release the keys.
- Press Shift, Option, or the Space bar while you drag to re-size the selection area.
- When you are ready to take a picture, release the mouse button.
- Pressing the space bar only allows to drag the selection area. It can't be used to re-size the selection area.
- Picture won't be taken unless you release the mouse button.
- To cancel, press Escape.
- Press Command (⌘)-Shift-4.
- Press the Space Bar.
- Move the camera pointer over the area to highlight it, and then click.
- To cancel, press Escape.
Annotation
If you want to you can open the screen-shot in preview and annotate it by:
- Get to annotate click Tools > Annotate.
- Click annotate and the arrow. Draw arrows on the image.
- Click annotate and click the 'A' button. Allows you to add text.
- Click the annotate button and then the oval. Allows you to circle things.
- Click the annotate button and the the square one to draw squares around things.
Tips
- This may not work for all mac computers.
