Throw a Cram in a Van Party

A Cram in a Van party basically means cramming as many people in a van or preferably a caravan as you can and throwing an all-night party in it. Yes, it rocks. So here's how to have one that rocks more than any other party you've been to. Get started at step number one below.

Steps

  1. Get a caravan. If you don't have one, then ask friends or relatives. Friends are probably your best bet as they'll be more willing to use their caravan cause they'll want to be at the party too. Have the caravan in a garden or driveway so that people have easy access to the outside.
  2. Work out a date with your friends. Choose 9 top friends and ask them when they'll be free. Pick a date when those nine are all free, and chances are, tons of other people will be free on this date too.
  3. Figure out a time when it will start, say 7 or 8 P.M. You do not need to have a time when everyone leaves in the morning. To be honest, no one really cares when they're meant to be leaving if they're at an all-night party.
  4. Ask your top 9 friends to invite other people they know. Then post a bulletin/mass message on Myspace or email everyone telling them about the party and saying they can come.
  5. Get ready. The day before the party, get your friends to help you clear away any breakables, vacuum the floor and clean any dirty surfaces. Also, put up flashing lights and burn some CDs.
  6. Get all the refreshments you have and put them on a table in the caravan.
  7. Put your laptop in the caravan and open iTunes/your music. Also put it on the internet and open an internet browser so people can chat. But take advantage of the parental controls. If you don't, you will be very, very, very sorry.
  8. Put some crazy music on. Loud techno, electronic, rock, alternative, and rap all are good choices.
  9. Have something like a trampoline in the garden. They're always fun at any party. To avoid injury, set limits. Nobody who is intoxicated should be on the trampoline. No more than 4 people on the trampoline at a time.
  10. Wait for everyone to come and have a great time!

Tips

  • Ask a few friends to stay after the party to help clean up.
  • Ask people to bring CDs so there is a range of music playing.
  • Try to keep your parents in the house. It can be hard, but you've got to try.
  • Bring a camera or two and take pictures so you can remember the party.

Warnings

  • People will smoke. You can't stop them, but tell them not to smoke inside the caravan.
  • Be considerate of the neighbours. If a lot of people show up because you broadcast the party location then be prepared for a visit from the police. Most towns and cities have noise by-laws.
  • You could run out of food. Be sure to either have back up food or food readily available for purchase nearby.
