Turn a Cap Gun Into a BB Gun

This will tell you how to turn a revolver cap gun into a bb gun. The difference in this and a real bb gun is that this has a loud bang to go along with the projectile.

Steps

  1. Buy some 6mm plastic Air Soft BBs.This will be your ammunition if you haven't already figured it out.
  2. Take your cap gun and, using either one, take a knife or scissors and put the point of it into the front of the orange cap and twist it until there is a hole the size of the rest of the barrel.
  3. Drill it with an electric drill.
  4. Take the orange tip off completely.
  5. Try to put the BB down the barrel where the barrel is connected to the cylinder(the revolving part). If it won't go, or there is a second obstruction in the barrel use your knife to get the obstruction out or make the entry larger to make the bb go through.
  6. Take the cap off with pliers. But if it isn't a multi-colored gun I wouldn't advise it because that is how the police identify it as a toy.
  7. Take the cylinder out and put a BB into each little hole in the opposite side you put the caps in. Then you push it down with a pencil or something. Only push it down halfway.if you push it down all the way then it won't be able to come out.
  8. Put a fresh load of caps on and then put the cylinder back in the gun.Make sure the BB's are facing the barrel!
  9. Point at target and fire away!

Tips

  • If the cylinder doesn't have individual holes for the bbs,and they are all connected then that won't work. Because the expanding of the air is what forces the BB out. If they are all connected then it lets air in and its to wide of a space for the air to expand enough to do anything.
  • For ammo you can also use the ball on dressing pins. To get them off take to pliers and grab the needle with one and the ball with the other,and give a forceful tug.
  • if your planning on buying a cheap 11 dollar airsoft gun don't.these guns are cheaper more durable(if you buy a metal one)and just as powerful if not a little more or less powerful.the only bad part is that it requires a little work and reload time is slow.but I think it's a better way to go.

Warnings

  • NEVER shoot at the eyes or face. This is much more powerful than a regular airsoft gun.
  • It is against the law to take the orange cap off of a toy gun.
  • Use the same caution as you would with any BB gun.
  • Just like any other gun injuries can and may happen.
