Fix Your Airsoft Gun

There are several types of Airsoft guns out there and fixing them is something that you might have trouble with, especially cheaper plastic guns. Many Airsoft websites won't tell you how to fix your gun, but rather send it back and have you pay 30 to 50 dollars to fix it.

Steps

  1. Look at the gun's manual. There might be something in it that can tell you what is wrong.
  2. An electric gun's internal parts might be harder to fix. Use youtube for the disassembly of your airsoft model, or check any of the main retailers (Airsoft GI, Evike, etc.) for tech videos. NEVER open the gearbox (internals) unless you know what you're doing first.
  3. When you take it apart, be extremely careful.
  4. To remove a BB, simply use a plastic rod that should have been included with your Airsoft gun. The manual will explain how to safely use it.
  5. To fix a broken outer piece, hot glue and super glue work really well. Plastic glue can be purchased at the hardware store, it is used in a caulking gun.
  6. To fix an internal part, carefully take apart the gun as best as you can, and if you are not sure about taking apart a piece, don't do it. Try to ask a more experienced player.
  7. Look through your gun's manual to see if you can locate a page that has a picture of the parts in the gun, (only for high quality electrics) and see if you can compare the part to the picture and order a new one. You can find parts on multiple websites.

Tips

  • If you threw away the manual, simply put the grey and black rod (pointy tip first) into the barrel. Then simply nudge the BB until it drops out of the mag well.

Warnings

  • While working on a gun, make sure that you take it apart slowly to make sure that no pieces fly out.
  • Be sure that you keep any fingers away from the trigger.
  • Be careful because all the pieces might fly out anyway.
