Use Reachability on an iPhone
This article teaches you how to enable Reachability on your large-screened iPhone so it's easier to use with one hand.
Steps
Enabling Reachability
- Open your iPhone’s Settings. It’s the Template:Iphone icon, which you’ll typically find on your home screen.
- Tap General.
- Tap Accessibility.
- Slide the “Reachability” switch to the Template:Iphone position. Reachability is now ready to use.
- If the switch was already on/green, there’s no need to make any changes.
Using Reachability
- Unlock your screen. Reachability will not work if the screen is locked.
- Lightly double-tap the Home button to start Reachability. Do not press the Home button—just touch it twice as if you’re double-tapping the screen. The screen will then shrink to about half of its height, making it easier to use with one hand.
- To make the shrunken screen appear at the top of the screen rather than the bottom, tap the black area once.
- Double-tap the Home button to exit Reachability. This returns your iPhone’s screen to its normal size.
