Add Gmail Calendars to an iPad

Want to consolidate all of your events in one spot? You can use the Calendar app on your iPad to access all of your digital calendars, including any you create or share in Google. Syncing your Google calendars to your iPad allows you to view, make changes, and add events from one spot.

Steps

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPad.
  2. Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars".
  3. Tap "Add Account".
  4. Select "Google" from the list of providers.
  5. Enter in your Google account information. This includes your Gmail address and login password.
  6. Tap the "Calendars" slider to enable calendar syncing.
  7. Visit the Calendar syncing site. By default, Google will only sync your base calendar, If you have multiple Google calendars that you need to sync, visit www.google.com/calendar/iphoneselect on your computer or from your iPad's browser.
  8. Check the boxes for each calendar that you want to sync. You will need to return to this site whenever you create a new calendar or receive a new Shared calendar.
  9. Click "Save". Your checked calendars will now be synced with your iPad.[1]
  10. Set your default calendar. After syncing your Google calendar, new events you create in your Calendar app may still not be showing up in your Google calendar on other devices. This is because you are creating events for your iPad's calendar, not the Google one.
    • Open the Settings app.
    • Select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars".
    • Scroll down to the bottom of the menu.
    • Tap the "Default Calendar" option and select your Google Calendar.
  11. Browse through your different calendars. Open the Calendar app to see all of your events combined from all the calendars you have synced with your iPad. You can tap each of the calendars to view just the events contained in that calendar.
