Add Minutes to Straight Talk Android

Straight Talk lets you use airtime on your phone at very low rates compared to major mobile network companies. You can use your phone just like how you would use it on a normal network. But just like any type of mobile service, you also have to refill your phone’s airtime balance every now and then to continue using the Straight Talk service. If you’re using an Android phone, there are two ways to add minutes to your airtime balance in Straight Talk.

Steps

Adding Minutes Online

  1. Purchase a Straight Talk service. A service card is a top-up card that you can buy from participating retailers, starting at $30 a card, although this might change in the future. A service card is used to refill airtime load balance on your Straight Talk phone.
  2. Go to www.straighttalk.com/Refill.
  3. Enter your phone’s IMEI code. IMEI codes are numeric combinations assigned to your phone as a unique ID number. To get your phone’s IMEI code, type *#06# on your phone’s keypad.
    • If your Android phone is under the “Bring Your Own Phone” program, enter your SIM card’s last 15-digit number. There is no need to enter your phone’s IMEI.
  4. Enter your Straight Talk phone number. Type in your Straight Talk phone number on the text field found on the left-hand section of the page.
  5. Enter a Service PIN. Straight Talk Service PIN is the number located at the back of a Service Card. If you purchased your card over the cash register, the Service PIN is located on your receipt.
    • Skip this step if your phone is not in the “Bring Your Own Phone” program.
  6. Click on "Continue" to proceed.
  7. Refill airtime balance. Click the “Continue” button and the value of the service card you bought will be transferred to the Straight Talk account on your Android.

  4. Choose the language. A voice recording will ask you to choose from either English or Spanish language. Press the number as instructed by the voice recording to pick the language you like.
  5. Enter the 15-digit number located on the Service Card. You can do it verbally or type it in using your phone’s keypad.
    • The voice recording will read your Service PIN back to confirm it. If it’s correct, confirm by saying “Yes.” The Service Card value will now be credited to your account balance.

Tips

  • When refilling your account on the Straight Talk website, you can register your Service Card under “Access Straight Talk Reserve.” This way, when your current service runs out, minutes will be automatically added to your airtime balance using the Service Card you’ve entered.
  • Refill your Service Plan every 30 days to keep it active.
