Steps
Preparation
- Apply concealer. Dab under eyes, paying special attention to any 'problem areas'.
- Using a soft toothbrush, 'scrub' your lips till they are plump and smooth.
- Apply a colorless lip balm.
- Apply concealer in a line under the lip, accenting the natural color of your lips.
- Apply your foundation of choice. Dry skin should use a moisturizing liquid foundation while oily and combination skin should use a powder format.
- Check for no lines along hairline or jaw.
Eyes, Eyelashes, and Finishing Touches
- Apply concealer to eyelid.
- Brush on eyelid a soft, gold-ish brown color all over eye using a soft, large brush. Extend all the way to the brow bone.
- Apply darker shade to eyelid, using the same brush as before.
- Apply black pencil eye liner. Draw the line very carefully. Blend it gently- no sharp lines at this point!
- Take a small, triangular brush and dip it in a bit of water. Mix it with a black eyeshadow and 'paint' three eyelashes on your upper lid.
- Proceed to 'paint' on three lower lashes on your lower lid.
- Clean the small brush well - no more black!
- Use a bright white (Shimmer is best) and draw in-between the fake lashes to accent the fake lashes.
- Use a soft glitter in a light, champagne gold and brush over the entire eyelid and brow. Extend out and down onto cheek bone accenting the cheek bones.
- Using a blush brush take a pink or gold/red and blend onto apples of your cheeks.
- Take the false lashes and snip them down to the length of your lashes.
- Apply as instructions say.
- Apply a base mascara coat (should be white).
- Use an eyelash curler.
- Apply the black mascara, wiggle brush up eyelashes.
- Using a lash comb pull apart lashes, creating an even fan of lashes and not a dead spider look.
- Wipe any excess lip balm from your lips.
- Use a pink or red paint your lips.
- Ta da! You look fabulous.
Tips
- Give yourself enough time so you are not rushing. Also, you may want to start using a whitening toothpaste about 2 weeks in advance so you can have a perfect white smile. Many pictures will be taken!
- Take your time.
- If you use red cheeks, be careful not to overdose the color.
- Apply mascara to false lashes to help blending power.
- Don't cheat your Foundation, get a good foundation.
- The glitter needs to be an addition to the look, not the show stealer.
- Don't go overboard with drawing the lashes - too long and they look trashy.
- Don’t apply glitter if using an alternate shade combination unless using a color that matches (White for a white and black color, lavender for a purple, soft blue for a blue combo).
- Unlike the girl in the picture, you should pluck/wax the brows and your upper lip.
- Red needs to be red! Don't skimp on reds.
- Liquid eyeliner is hard to work with, which is why black eyeshadow should be used for drawing the lines IF you are comfortable with it then the black eyeshadow and liquid liner are interchangeable.
- The colors can be changed. Some other color combos you might try could be (Eyeliner, Main Eye Shadow, Secondary Eye Shadow color, Lash Accent Color)...Navy, Bright Blue, light blue and White; Dark Brown, Dark gold, light gold, champagne; Black, Plum, lavender, white(or light purple).
Warnings
- Don't get make up in your eyes.
