Avoid Getting Hurt in a Quad Accident
Riding quads can be very fun, but dangerous. Here are some steps you can take to avoid serious injury.
Steps
- Always wear safety gear. This includes helmets, kidney braces, chest protectors, boots, and gloves.
- If you roll your quad on a dune, roll away from the quad. Remember, the quad is going to roll straight down, so roll to the side.
- If your quad stalls on a hill, get off the quad and either let it fall or find a way to get it off of the hill.
- If you are about to crash into something, you may be better off getting off the quad at a safe distance. Bend your knees and roll to soften the impact.
- Always look around you to make sure there are not other riders or objects in your surrounding areas.
Tips
- Be a conscientious rider and ask that anyone else you ride with does so safely. *Ride no faster than is safe.
- Do all you can to avoid having an accident in the first place, but always wear safety gear, anyway.
- Don't ride in areas above your experience level.
- Don't ride in areas that are unsafe.
