Steps
- Find a good trail. If you don't have anywhere to ride, try making some trails If you have woods behind your house, start there.
- Check the trail to make sure it is suitable for your ATV (check wideness, brush density, and for roots and debris on the ground). Make adjustments to your trail.
- Make sure your vehicle is in good working order. Nothing is worse than having your car break down in the middle of an obstacle.
- Make sure you know how to use your equipment: Winch, snatch rope, tackle block sand tracks.
- Make sure your car is in 4wheel drive: 4H for normal loose sand, stone and a low climb to medium climb. 4L for soft sand, Mud, water and medium to steep climbs. Also your 4L has a lot of torque.
- Bring any needed supplies. A fanny pack that attaches to the cargo rack of your ATV would be a great idea to carry gear in. Extra gloves, spare socks (for mudslinging), and maybe some snacks and something to help you stay hydrated.
- Make sure you and all your passengers are buckled in.
Tips
- Be sure that your size ATV can handle any hills or obstacles that may be in your way.
- For obvious reasons, you should always wear a helmet.
Warnings
- Be sure not to trespass on anybody's land.
- Watch for open fields during hunting season as a hunter could mistake you for a deer.
