Be a Scene Girl Without Being a Poser

Being scene, people say that being scene is very common and all of them are posers. Not true, now days no one is scene, and there are mostly preps roaming the school, all those times you were scene and called poser, now is your chance to stand out!

Steps

  1. Confidence! Scene girls are gorgeous, most of the time. They are up-to-date with fashion, they come in second place next to preps. But there's always the jealous one that has to dog on them 24/7, but would a scene girl let that ruin her life? Heck no! Remember confidence is key, if you let one rumor break you down, than you really are a poser. Don't take it too seriously its just a sentence running around the school, that will soon fade away. It happens to everyone. Even scene girls.
  2. Be random! Random and funny, shy and bubbly, cute and happy. Some words used to describe scene chicks. It is also very 'scene' if you create your own personality.
  3. Listen to the music. Being scene means being original, so you can pretty much listen to whatever you want. But most scene kids listen to hardcore, post-hardcore, alternative rock, power pop, screamo, indie rock, pop-punk and electro. Some bands to consider are All Time Low, Brokencyde,Blood On The Dance Floor, Paramore, Stereo Skyline, Bring Me the Horizon, The Devil Wears Prada, Johann Sebastian Bach, Tsar, A Day To Remember, A Skylit Drive, Mozart, Escape the Fate, Death Cab for Cutie, Iwrestledabearonce,Black Veil Brides, Metro Station, Beethoven, Forever the Sickest Kids, Bright Eyes. These are just suggestions, so you can listen to any band you want but try to stay away from mainstream music because if everyone listens to it, there is nothing original about it. If you want to listen to Lady GaGa and Ke$ha, go ahead, but don't fill up your iPod with every song they've recorded.
  4. Looks. Yes, skinny jeans and t-shirts are all the rage with scene kids, but the true meaning of scene is "make a scene". Meaning start your own fashion, be unique and not afraid to be who you really are. Although scene IS a combination of punk and prep, you still must throw yourself in the mixture, yet never giving yourself into labels. The hair must have your own style in it, but containing a little layers, color and, of course, volume. Bangs are acceptable. Short, choppy layers are called the "extreme scene," the long hair with bangs straight cross is "simple yet scene" and the swish bangs and volume is just known as "teased scene." All are very cute. But be original!
  5. Have fun! Scene girls know how to have fun! They always try to make everything fun! Don't complain about a stomachache or how sleepy you are, no one likes a person who is so negative and no one wants to hear you complain, it ruins their day.
  6. Enjoy being a scene girl!

Tips

  • Get many bracelets. Thick rubber ones are popular, but homemade ones and beads are great too.
  • Never call yourself scene.
  • Don't attempt to make these changes in one day or you'll be called a poser. Make the changes gradual. A full transfer to scene may take up to a year, but you'd rather be a real scene girl and have to wait a long time than be a fake one!
  • Make sure you don't only hang around scene personalities. Become friends with different crowds too! This will show you aren't afraid to express your-self and show you personality. People will begin to like you even more as who you are.
  • When taking photos, experiment with mirrors. They have a really good effect when used right.
  • Don't give away any personal information like where you live on the internet and make your profile private. Make sure only your friends can see your photos. Once you are more famous on the internet people will start using your photo's for faking if you don't!
  • Bright colors and animal prints are key! Too much black is not good unless your hair is bleached blonde.
  • Use a cotton bud to wipe off any excess liquid eyeliner. Wet one side of it and wipe away the eyeliner and then take the dry side to dry it off without smudging the rest of your make-up.
  • If you have no scene kids at your school but want to meet some go to local gigs at clubs and pubs where they should be.
  • Get a Myspace, Twitter, Facebook and BuzzNet!

Warnings

  • Some people not into the scene may think or call you Emo-- that's wrong. Set them straight. Tell people not to label you.
  • At the start you may be called a poser. But if you are a real scene girl this shouldn't bother you. Just keep going.
  • Don't try to copy anyone!!
  • Myspace and bebo have a lot of bad people on it. Don't post sexy photos on it and be careful and don't give your contact details to anyone you don't know.
  • Don't call yourself scene.
  • Never Shout! Never! is getting super mainstream, so to avoid annoying the people that have been listening to him since he was sixteen and unsigned, make sure you don't just know songs from the Summer EP.
  • You will be hated by some people. Just think of them as jealous.
