Celebrate Valentines Day when Your Loved One Is Away

Here are some ideas for how you can celebrate Valentine's Day when your loved one is miles and miles away and you just don't want to send a gift and wind up celebrations.

Steps

  1. Start planning things a week before.
  2. Collect all of the wild ideas that you know they would love.
  3. Make a handmade e-card or scan a card that you have specially made for your loved one.
  4. If you like to experiment with cooking, try making a special Valentine's Day cake. Pour in your creativity (don't go too wild though). Cut the cake with less privileged friends (or an orphanage or old age home) and spread your love.
  5. Capture the above moments and share them with your loved one.
  6. If you love soft toys, get one for yourself this time.
  7. Make a lovely love basket and neatly place cards, toys, and one special gift you want to give them. Decorate it as much as you want. Wrap it nicely with transparent plastic sheets and save it for when they come home.
  8. With technology so advanced, you could ask your loved one to be online and show them the special basket or, if that's not possible, try taking pictures and send them.

Tips

  • Nothing stops you from celebrating when it's a day that everyone can share.
  • A special gift could be anything. Anything and everything that won't spoil before they get back.
  • Keep your special basket intact until they get home. It's just going to be an extended Valentine's Day!
