Change Your Minecraft Skin Using the Launcher

Minecraft's updated launcher makes both the game and the launcher run much more quickly. Additionally, there is another advantage to having this launcher installed: you can change your skin directly through it!

Steps

  1. Open up the launcher.  It should have a grass-block icon.
  2. Click on the Skins tab at the top of the page.  If you don't see it, try clicking on the three white lines near the top at the right.
  3. Click on Browse to go to your files.  Select the skin.  (It should be just a bunch of colored pixels.)  Press Open.
  4. Press Save.  It should say "Success!  Your skin has been changed!" at the top.

Tips

  • Make sure to have the settings "Slim/Alex" or "Classic/Steve" selected as desired.
